GUSTAV BECKER WALL CLOCK

Gustav Becker Wall Clock *SOLD*

This is a truly splendid German wall clock which was made by the renowned clock company Gustav Becker.

The wall clock dates from the 1870s +/-, it's clockcase is completely made out of solid wood, the front is partly veneered. The entire clockcase is adorned with many detailed elaborated carved turning works.

The wall clock has an 8-day movement, which is in full working order and keeps the time accurately. The entire movement is made out of solid brass elements. The clock strikes once each half an hour and the hours fully. The clock has a spiral gong, which is unusual thick - so the tone is very sonorous. The movement was recently revised by our Master Horologist. The dial face is made out of porcelain with hand painted arabic numbers on it. The pendulum is original, made out of brass and with a motif, which is still influenced by the German Art Nouveau/ Jugendstil design.

The wall clock has one glass panel for the pendulum and another one for the dial face. Rare on the clock is that the pendulum is behind a lid, which can be hinged. What is fascinating is the fact that the entire left side of the clockcase can also be opened up . This is beneficial when it comes to the fine adjustment.

The wall clock is in very good and well-kept condition. Even the numerous carved elements are still complete, not one single piece is missing. The dial face is also still in mint condition. There are smallest signs of use on the clock, but one can truly state that the entire clock is in exceptional good condition. The clock never suffered from any worm infestation. The wall clock comes with a key, but maybe it is not the original key.

The total height of the wall clock is 42.5" .

The width of the clockcase is 17.3" ; the depth is 8.7" .

The pendulum has a length of 15.0" .

The diameter of the dial face is 7.5".

Don't miss this rare opportunity to call such a stunning and authentic Gustav Becker wall clock your own. Below you will find pictures that will help you best to see how breathtaking this antique clock is.

This wall clock would be an eye-catcher in any home!
